My Parks Expiration Time Limits

In this article you will become familiar with the various expiration times that are associated with claiming a mobile home park or RV park in the My Parks solution.

Overview

One of the largest challenges to having accurate MH/RV park records is knowing who currently owns the park. Outdated information is extremely frustrating to everyone.

To ensure the information about park's claimholder does not become outdated, MHParks.com uses built-in time limits for two key aspects of the My Parks solution.

First, when a member successfully claims a MH/RV park, as its claimholder, the member will hold the claim for a specific period of time before the they are required to renew their claim on the park.

This ensures the park records are periodically updated by claimholders as the park's information may change over the years.

Second, MHParks.com accommodates for those instances that a park owner has changed but the prior owner still holds a claim in the My Parks solution.

In these instances, other users can request permission from the existing claimholder, to claim the park for themselves.

The claimholder can then decide if they wish to transfer the claim or reject the transfer. As an additional layer of protection for the existing claimholder, each email request has an expiration time in the event the request goes unanswered.

Definitions

  • Claimed - A Park Sites status that is used to indicate if a park has a claimholder in the My Parks solution. Each claimed park will have a blue map pin if another member has claimed the park, or it will be purple if you have claimed the park.
  • Claimholder - A user that has claimed a Park Site within the My Parks solution.

Expiration Time Limits

  • Claimed Parks - Each claim on a mobile home park or RV park in the My Parks solution expires 365 days after the user claims the park. Users that have claimed a park in My Parks solution will be notified their claim is about to expire 30 days prior to the claim expiring.
  • Requests to Claim a Claimed Park- Each request to transfer a claim, will automatically expire after 10 days if the existing claimholder does not respond to the system generated email request. The requesting party will be automatically notified that the request has expired or that the request was denied.  When the transfer is approved, the requesting party will automatically become the new claimholder.
